science teacher paul Regis Becomes the Newest Member of the Legendary Rock Band “Radiohead”
By: Ryan Fitzgerald
Many students at Glenelg may know Mr. Regis as a Biology or Marine Science teacher. But today, the world will know him as something else: The newest member of Radiohead.
After weeks of rumors, a representative from XL Recordings confirmed that the legendary rock band Radiohead has added Regis, who looks to bring his charisma and musical prowess to a band eager to explore a more scientific sound.
Radiohead front man Thom Yorke and Regis met eight years ago in Hawaii while they both happened to be scuba diving. Regis, who was a huge Radiohead fan prior to joining their band, admits that he was very star-struck at first, but Yorke and Regis became friends quickly and started playing music together.
“In many ways, [Regis] was in Radiohead before he officially joined the band,” Yorke said in a recent BBC interview. Yorke also noted that several of the band’s more recent songs were inspired by Regis. On their latest studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, the track "Daydreaming" was partially inspired by a dream Yorke had about skiing down the slopes of the Rockies with Regis.
Regis claims that he first jammed with Radiohead in 2019 when he was visiting Yorke in the United Kingdom. According to Radiohead drummer Philip Selway, everyone in the band quickly agreed that Regis had exactly what the band had been looking for. He was supposed to officially join the band and embark on a tour with them in 2020, but this tour was, of course, postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As for what Regis will be doing in the band, guitarist Jonny Greenwood commented: "We don't quite know what he will be doing in the band yet, but we're looking forward to figuring it out."
In a Canvas announcement, Regis noted that his new position in Radiohead will not be affecting his teaching job at Glenelg:
"While I am very grateful for this new opportunity that I have been given, I will be continuing to teach at Glenelg, while doing my best to keep up with the touring schedule of the band."
If you have Regis as a teacher, or if you see him in the hallway, be sure to wish him congratulations on joining Radiohead. You may also want to ask for his autograph.

Carstea's cartoon corner: leaked clone high season two teasers ahead!
By: Bella Carstea
(Spoilers ahead for both Seasons 1 & 2!)
Media: Clone High (2002-03)
Category: Cartoon TV Show
Runtime: One Season
Rating: TV-MA
Creators: Phil Lord,
Christopher Miller, Bill Lawrence
The long-awaited Season 2 of the hit TV sensation Clone High has finally released teasers regarding the show's new direction, character designs, and more! After nineteen years of anticipation, some news regarding the second season of the cult classic has been brought to the public eye!
The original 2000’s cartoon starred Abe Lincoln, Cleopatra, JFK, Gandhi and Joan of Arc, but the genetic duplicate friend group looks a bit different as of late. The abrupt ending of the first season shocked and confused audiences, with the clones and shadowy figures frozen. Where would the show go from here? Creators have decided to have the story play out in real time—the characters unfreezing in the year 2022! How would this new decade affect these over-the-top 2000s teens? The answer’s clear, according to the team behind the show.
The iconic Clone High art style won't be returning come 2022’s new release. The animation that inspired the more popular Total Drama Island is being rebuilt from scratch for Season 2. “Audiences have seen the whole ‘Adult Cartoon’ aesthetic; we needed a change. Motion capture really brought this relic back into the modern world,” executives explained.*
Although I pried, the team wouldn’t show me any visual spoilers, but it’s rumored that Timothy Chalamet will be the body stand-in for a certain clone of a top-hatted president. Of course, Will Forte will return to voice this now-3D protagonist.
Of course, with this new look, a shift in the story has to come along with it. The Clone High team brought us leaks of the story, “Cheesy high school satire is predictable. True irony lies in pushing further, which is why we decided to pull for more realism, find the truth in these government-controlled high school clones of famous figures. What are they thinking, what are they feeling? We’re here not to watch, but to listen.”*
And listen we will! A release date hasn’t been brought to the public yet, but I’m sure viewers will keep an ear out for Paul Revere! The clones are coming! And they're coming to you sometime in 2022 on HBOMax!
* Quotes mentioned above were not stated by anyone affiliated with Clone High. I do not speak for the show and its production. Happy April Fools!
