Overview
The Glenelg Earth Organization (GEO) Club is an environmental club that works to encourage the Glenelg community to be stewards of the environment through education and explore club members’ environmental interests through outdoor recreation. The club meets biweekly on Thursdays in room 221 (Dr. Shepard’s room). Currently, there are eleven students involved in the club. So far in our meetings, the GEO Club decorated their bulletin board to educate peers about the environmental threat that plastic waste poses to aquatic life, and are in the process of planning a plastic pollution lesson for teachers to share with their students. On a monthly basis the GEO Club will be decorating the bulletin board and planning another lesson to educate Glenelg about environment-related issues. The GEO Club even has a vegetable garden in the courtyard!
Why You Should Join
Environmental science and the earth is so complex and diverse, and likewise, the GEO Club encompasses a wide variety of people, activities, and conversations. Whatever it is one love about nature, animals, or plants, the GEO Club explores that interest through the activities that they do and by educating peers and the school community.
