Holidays are a happy time to spend with friends and family but it can be expensive. Christmas trees especially, as well as the prices for each state to buy an average 6 foot christmas tree are all different.

Not every state has natural habit trees, therefore the shipping to bring trees to a state from somewhere else is more expensive making the product itself cost more. With most trees coming from Oregon, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Washington, shipping to places like California and into the cities of New York can make these two places the most expensive spots to buy a christmas tree.

In the U.S. over 25 million trees are sold every year.

Over the years, the demand for Christmas trees has dramatically increased. With the high demand of trees, it caused tree farms to cut down, reducing the stock of larger trees they could have had.

On average it takes around 7 years to grow a 6 foot tree, so with the numbers of trees
being bought and cut down on the rise, and the area where trees can be grown going down, it can be expected over the next few years to see a continuous rise on Christmas tree prices.
