As cable becomes more and more obsolete, streaming services, that allow for watching on the go, have begun to rise to the top of the entertainment pyramid. In order to capitalize on this change, the Walt Disney Company released its very own streaming service on November 12, 2019 in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. For the low price of $6.99 a month for standard Disney+ and $12.99 a month with Hulu and ESPN+, Disney Plus is an ad-free streaming service that includes Disney Channel along with Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and the National Geographic. “With all the benefits of a regular streaming service, but with better shows and movies, Disney Plus is so worth seven dollars a month.” says Kevin Pak, a Junior at Glenelg High School. With many great shows and more planned for the future, Disney Plus has successfully immersed itself into the streaming business, and could possibly rise to the very top. By Alexis Kominos
