By: Kyle Gonce Fortnite has been one of the world’s most popular games since 2017. It has spawned many collaborations with businesses, news stories, and has made the famous “Battle Pass,” which many games have strived to mimic. Since 2017, Fortnite has hosted a halloween event named “Fortnitemares” to celebrate Halloween in game form. This year, Fortnitemares returns with many new welcome surprises as well as a few classic ones. The first teaser that Epic Games revealed was many different cards that reference future skins coming to the game. The first one shown from the cards was actually a familiar face, Frankenstein! A collaboration with Universal brings this popular monster to the game. The Mummy has also been mentioned as an upcoming skin for this event as well, making this event something spectacular to look forward to. Visiting Universal Studios Hollywood anytime this month? A huge battle bus has been set up with Fortnite characters for you to take pictures with! Great to see that this collaboration is not just in Fortnite, but in the real world, too! The Cube army is engaging in the next phase of its plan of taking over the island. Later this month the cubes will take over the island and a limited time mode will be returning as well. This seems to be a similar callback all the way to 2018’s Fortnitemares when the cube took over the island. However, how the cubes will change the island is unknown at the moment. Lastly, Shortnite, a small little event that Fortnite does from time to time to support small creators or fun films, is back! This one will be called “shortnitemares” and will revolve around more spooky films! Players are looking forward to this year’s version of the Fortnitemares, as these events have always been good one way or another! This year's Fortnitemares will last until Nov. 1. Happy haunting!
