The Highly Anticipated Movies of 2017

     2017 is going to be a big year for the Hollywood. With many sequels and new movies coming out, there is bound to be something that everyone can enjoy. Some of the most anticipated sequels that are coming out this year include:

• Spiderman: Homecoming
•  Alien: Covenant
• Thor: Ragnarok
• War for the Planet of the Apes
• X-Men: Logan
• Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
• Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
• The Fast and Furious: The Fate of the Furious
• Transformers: The Last Knight
• Incredibles 2
• Cars 3

     When asking people what movies they were excited to see this year, Senior Chris Currie said “I want to see Incredibles 2. I grew up watching the first Incredibles and it was a huge part of my childhood. I am excited to see Cars 3 as well. It looks good and Cars and Cars 2 are also movies that I grew up watching. Also, Lightning McQueen is the greatest of all time.” Currie is not the only one excited for an addition to a series to come out. Junior, Jordan Taylor, said “I am super excited to see ‘Alien: Covenant’ because I have seen all of the other ‘Alien’ movies and I really enjoyed them.” He then added, “I am a big fan of sci-fi movies and this one looks intriguing.” These are only two of the many that both Currie and Taylor can not wait to see.

     Sequels are not the only hot topic for the movie scene in 2017, there are a bunch of new films that many can not wait to see. Some of these include:

• La La Land
• Don’t Breathe
• Split
• Belko Experiment
• Beauty and the Beast
• The Lost City of Z

     With so many seemingly great films coming out in 2017, it is going to be hard to see them all. Junior, Julia Herboldt commented, “I really want to see the movie Split. It is an unique take on a horror movie that seems much more realistic than past horror movies I have seen. I can not wait for it to be released!” 2017 seems to be the year to see some amazing movies, no matter what your favorite genre is. Hopefully everyone will be able to find a movie they enjoy.
