Weird Beauty Products

2/3/2017

By Anna Lawson

Society uses some pretty strange products and techniques in order to try and look their best. A recent surge in innovative beauty products has captivated the public. These three unusual, yet admittedly interesting, products will have you tempted to try something new.

1.) Dr. Brandt Skincare Magnetight Age-Defier™
This dynamic face mask dramatically transforms and brightens the look of skin. The iron-based formula, activated by magnetic particles, illuminates and lifts stressed, tired skin. It specializes in solutions for dullness and uneven skin tone as well. After trying this rejuvenating mask Mi-Anne Chan from Refinery29 said that, “[she] loves the fact that it left [her] skin noticeably brighter and smoother.” To use, cover your face in the mask and let sit for 10-20 minutes, or until set. Then slide the removal tool over the dried mask. The magnet will attract to the iron particles and magically lift off of your face. This face mask is perfect for all skin types and will leave you looking fresh, lively, and radiant.

What is Included? How Much is it? Where can I buy it?
  • One three ounce container of iron infused mask and one magnet removal tool
  • Sephora and on other various online stores
  • $75

2.) Nails Inc. Paint Can Spray On Nail Polish
A revolutionary new way to paint nails has caught the attention of many. It is spray on nail polish created for people in need of a quick color fix. Thea Green, the founder of Nails Inc., said that their paint can was born due to customer’s requests for a quick and efficient way to apply color when on the go. To use, first apply the dual base/top coat followed by the spray. The nail polish spray will adhere to the basecoat while the rest can be washed off with soap and water, or a cleansing wipe.

What is Included? How much is it? Where can I buy it?
  • One 1.75 ounce can of spray nail polish (currently eight shade choices) and a .17 ounce bottle of two-in-one base and top coat
  • Nailsinc.com and Sephora
  • $20

3.) Skinfood Black Sesame Hot Mask
The self-heating mask is a fairly new concept, but they are already extremely popular. When you first open the container, the mask’s earthy aroma will fill the room. It is a thick, sugary paste used to exfoliate, soften, and smooth the skin. Simply put the mask all over your face and let it sit for five to ten minutes. It will become warm, but not too hot. After the given time, rinse off your face with warm water and soap. The scrubbing particles in the mask will leave your face softer than ever.

What is Included? How much is it? Where can I buy it?
  • One 110 gram container of mask
  • Amazon or Urban Outfitters
  • $9-$16
