Whether you’re a seasoned Starbucks fan or a first-time customer, Starbucks has something for everyone to enjoy this holiday season, with a wide range of items from coffee to tea, and various baked goods.
In addition to sweet holiday treats, for the past few years, Starbucks has had a promotional event where on the third Thursday of November, with a purchase of a holiday beverage, patrons receive a reusable cup with one of the holiday designs (while supplies last).
So, why red cups? The iconic red Starbucks holiday cups actually didn’t start off red. In 1977 when the holiday cups debuted, they were actually magenta, designed by Sandy Nelson. However, two years later in 1979 the cups were switched to the iconic red you know today. In recent years starbucks has released four different designs on their disposable cups and the reusable cup with one of the holiday designs.
Many people have incorporated visiting starbucks on red cup day to collect the different designs as one of their holiday traditions.
